There is no official umpire in Switzerland to whom clients can turn with problems involving their independent asset manager. As the leading industry association in Switzerlnad, the SAAM seeks to fill this gap and is dedicated to providing effective investor protection.

Services provided by the SAAM
The aim of the assocation is to assume a function similar to that of an umpire in independent asset management by providing evaluators and abritrators and also offering advice for investors and independent asset managers.

If your asset manager is an Association member, then upon entry into the SAAM he/her became obliged to adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct in the practicing of professional and serious asset management. Therefore, as a client of an Association member you also have the option of complaining about your asset manager in writing to the Association. Justified suspicion of an infraction of the SAAM's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct will trigger internal Assocation proceedings.
