Independent asset managers are, beside the banks, the most important figures in the financial centre Switzerland

At the end of 2004, independent asset managers had 500 billion Swiss francs under management, which at the time equaled a 14% market share. Assuming that the market share has remained constant, then the capital managed by the independent asset managers grew an average of 17.5% annually from 2004 to 2006, to 680 billion Swiss francs. A significant portion of this capital is managed by SAAM members. This means that independent asset managers have become the most important figures in the non-bank sector. They are an independent pillar in the Swiss financial market.

Switzerland has a long tradition of private banking and is the most important platform in international comparison, with a 28% market share.

Independent asset management, with its excellent service peformance, contributes to the continuation and boosting of the good reputation of the Swiss financial centre.
